It seems that the medicine to heal Milan, and in particular Pioli as many think, is called Ibrahimovic. Everyone, or almost everyone, wants him, starting with Cardinale, the great boss who comes and goes and has already met the former striker in his intermittent appearances in Milan. No doubt, in fact, about his past as a striker, but unfortunately now “ex”. The problem, in fact, arises precisely from here, because there is a risk of confusing the past that does not return, with the present and above all with the future. And so, beyond the charm and charisma that Ibrahimovic will always have in the eyes of understandably nostalgic fans, it is right to ask what the Swede could guarantee in his new role as manager, all to be discovered unlike that of a player.
Given that Pioli seems to agree on his new role in Milan, given that he will no longer be able to solve the problems on the pitch as an alternative to Giroud, Ibrahimovic should solve the ones off, helping the coach to motivate the players, or taking them aside to avoid new bad moods or misunderstandings with Pioli himself. Knowing his exuberant character, to put it mildly, and his huge “ego”, however, the risk is that of generating some new fractures in the group, feeding the tension.
The certainty, however, is another, because Ibrahimovic’s presence would overlap with that of Pioli, limiting his role as leader, albeit indirectly, especially if everyone would then look for him to interview him, before or after the matches. Ibrahimovic, in fact, has many qualities but not the balance which is precious especially when results are lacking. And it’s one thing to prove yourself as a successful leader on the pitch, as he did very well when Boban called him back to Milan, but it’s another to be off in the club’s official uniform.
Just thinking back to this different role of Ibrahimovic, for him everything to discover, given that the new Milan lacks the figure of an expert and authoritative manager like Galliani, who solved many problems at Milanello by helping the Rossoneri coaches, another return would be more valuable than the Swede: that of Ariedo Braida.
Free from commitments, after having concluded his last collaboration with Cremonese, the former sporting director who won everything with Milan among other things would ask for fewer guarantees also from an economic point of view, ready to help Pioli without taking away his autonomy in the choices and without being mediatically cumbersome like Ibrahimovic. Able to speak in front of the cameras because he certainly does not lack dialectical balance, thanks to his experience, Braida could also become invaluable in future market decisions, while still leaving the role of Moncada unchanged, the technical director of the latest purchasing campaign, who could grow further next to an authentic master of the sector. Because it’s one thing to have been a (great) player, another to become a (great) manager. And the confirmation comes indirectly from Braida, who no one remembers as a center forward, among other things on loan in Rocco’s Milan, but everyone remembers Van Basten, Shevchenko and Kakà as the great director who brought the “Golden Balls” to the Rossoneri. And without ever boasting of being God…
