Five years after the application of EU Regulation 679/2016, the Guarantor for the protection of personal data resumes the interview with the public and private sector DPOs to take stock of the experience gained so far and to identify the areas of intervention aimed at strengthen the role of the DPO in the near future.
Designation, requirements, experience, training and updating of the DPO; risks associated with the position of the DPO: independence and conflict of interest; preventive value of the DPO’s activity: between advice to the data controller and protection of the data subject; contribution of the DPO in complex situations and the relationship with the Authority: these are the issues that will be addressed together by the Guarantor and the DPOs in Bologna.
