GOLDEN MORAVES. The club from Zlaty Moraviec is already waiting for a victory in fourteen league matches. The long negative streak should have meant the end of head coach Vladimír Cifranič.
He took over the team before the season and was involved in putting together a new team, which, however, completely failed in the first half of the season.
ViOn is the last and only the equally poor results of the Michaloviec players and similarly bad results from the Košice players give it hope of salvation.
The club’s management has already supported coach Cifranič and once again gave him confidence. Before Saturday’s match with Podbrezová (0:2), however, he received an ultimatum, which he did not fulfill.
“Today was the last game for me, because we were told during the week that if we don’t win, today is the final game,” Cifranič said.
Club owner Viliam Ondrejka also confirmed this agreement to the media, at the same time admitting that Norbert Hrnčár will probably sit on the bench until the end of the season.
But a day later, the Zlatomarovans came with an unexpected statement.
“After the loss against Podbrezova on Sunday morning, the owner and management of the club analyzed the current sports situation. So far, there has been no change in the implementation team,” said the club’s PR manager Timotej Pavlík.
However, the situation is not closed: “The club will discuss the topic on Monday.”
