The roaring twenties come to the Arriaga and the Guggenheim in a very special program | Radio Bilbao

The spectacle and art converge in the collaboration between the Arriaga Theater and the Guggenheim Museum, which will simultaneously bring to their spaces “the crazy twenties” from next May 7th.

A special programming that arises from the involvement of Calixto Bieito, the Artistic Director of the theater, as he will carry out the design of the exhibition “The Roaring Twenties” at the Guggenheim. In turn, they are programmed seven shows – an opera, four concerts and two plays – at the Arriaga, which will take place during the months of May and June.

The Roaring Twenties allows the Arriaga an opportunity to deepen, with a critical and creative spirit, and show different artistic approaches from today to that exciting period of social and cultural explosion, counting on artists from the local scene, as well as from the international scene“Bieito explained.

Extending this dialogue between both entities, with shows that “they broaden the perspective and are complementary”, “allows you to add additional value to your audiences – he said Juan Ignacio Vidarte, CEO of the Guggenheim -. “The sample reflects a period in which citizens decided face difficult times like the current ones from creativity, and it is worth creating an experience that allows us to immerse ourselves in the vital spirit of that time. “

Amaia Arregi, acting mayor, wanted to highlight that “the synergy generated between these two great Bilbao institutions allows us to continue with our strategy of consolidate Bilbao as an international benchmark in art and culture“.

Ticket sales for these shows will be available from April 26 at the box office or through the Arriaga website, although the only exception is the concert on May 2 by the Jerusalem Quartet y Hila Baggio, whose tickets will be sold from this April 23.
