Snow is falling in the regions of Shumen, Targovishte, Silistra and in the regions of Topolovgrad, Svilengrad, Ivaylovgrad, Provadia, Dulgopol, Koznitsa, Republic pass and Momchilgrad. The road surfaces are wet, in some places covered with snow, processed and sanded.

API recommends not to travel to Northwestern Bulgaria.

Due to a complicated meteorological situation in northwestern Bulgaria, the movement of trucks over 12 tons is stopped. The third-class road network in northwestern Bulgaria will be closed to traffic for all motor vehicles after confirming that there are no distressed vehicles in the sections.

The road agency reports that, in order to ensure higher safety, the movement of heavy goods vehicles over 12 tons (including trailers and semi-trailers) with more than two axles, agricultural and agricultural machinery, tractors and specialized construction equipment for public holidays all year round for the period of public holidays: the last working day before holidays – from 18:00 to 21:00 and the last rest /holiday/ day – from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The restrictions apply to the highways, with the exception of the section Harmanli-GCP “Kapitan Andreevo” from AM “Maritsa”; Route I-4; road I-9 Durankulak-Varna; road II-86 Plovdiv-Smolyan; road II-19 Simitli-Gotse Delchev; road II-18 Ring Road Sofia, section “South Arc” from km 26+100 to km 62+007; road I-1 with Rebarkovo-Botevgrad, with traffic being redirected along road II-16 Rebarkovo-Svoge-Sofia; road I-1 stage connection of LOT 1 of AM “Struma” at p.v. Dupnitsa north – checkpoint “Kulata”; road I-5 Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo; road I-8 Plovdiv-Harmanli; road I-9 Varna-Burgas; road II-99 Burgas-Tsarevo.

The ban applies to all periods in which more than one day off or holiday is designated. The ban does not apply to motor vehicles that transport dangerous goods (ADR), live animals, perishable food products and temperature controlled goods.

Traffic on the highways “Trakia”, “Hemus”, “Maritsa”, “Black Sea” and “Struma” is carried out without restrictions. On AM “Lyulin” in the Sofia region, part of the cladding panels of the right tube of the 1st tunnel direction (Sofia-Pernik) have been destroyed. Traffic is diverted from the active lane to the overtaking lane.

The “Zlatishki”, “Vrabishki” and “Troyanski” passages are closed to all motor vehicles.

“Predela”, “Pechinsko”, “Pamporovo”, “Rishki”, “Obzorski”, “Republika”, “Rozhen” and “Aitoski” are open to all cars.

Trucks must move through “Prevala” without trailers and semi-trailers. Kotlensky Pass is closed to the movement of motor vehicles over 10 tons, it is recommended that drivers use the “Rishki” and “Republika” passes.

“Petrohan” is closed to the movement of motor vehicles over 12 tons. Through “Tverdishki” and “Vratnik” it is closed to trucks over 10 tons, “Dyulinski” is closed to heavy goods vehicles. “Shipka” is open for traffic, but the movement of motor vehicles intended for the transport of goods with a technically permissible maximum mass of more than 12 tons of category N3, as well as the towing of trailers and semi-trailers with a technically permissible maximum mass of more than 10 tons of category O4 until 31.03.2015.
