When we review career Michael Jordan and we see his innumerable achievements, one could suppose it is a story taken from a movie script. But the reality is that the road to success was always full of setbacks and learning.
Before his arrival in the NBA, MJ was nothing more than an unknown young man from a small town North Carolina. Sporting skills were always in him, but it took incredible effort and motivation to get to the top.
Upon his arrival in 1984, the sport was dominated by high-rise players, MJ and his agents wanted to establish him as a team leader from a different position than traditional.
MJ accepted the challenge and became the main figure of the team of the Chicago Bulls, a city that had not had successful experiences in sports. At the end of her career, MJ had left the city of Chicago 6 championships and countless unforgettable moments.
A young company that joined the figure of MJ was Nike, who took the risk of introducing a tennis model with his name on the market.. The Nike projection was to have sales of 2 to 3 million dollars the first year, but after a few months the sales were the 100 million.
This in large part because the Air Jordans were not exclusive shoes for the game, but rather became a fashion item for all youth. Today the profit from sales is estimated at billions of dollars each year.
MJ’s greatest achievement was transforming the NBA into a global event, thanks to his contributions he is known in around 200 countries around the world. This produced benefits not only for the city of Chicago, but for every team and every player in the league.
In his career he failed more than 9000 shots at the hoop, he lost over 300 games and missed at least 26 game-winning shots. According to MJ himself this is the reason for his success, failing many times has allowed him to try again.
Even though his salary in all his career in the NBA does not exceed 100 million dollars. Today his fortune amounts to 2 billion, which makes him the richest athlete in the world.
Michael Jordan is the synonymous with excellence, his name can be used as an adjective of excellence and success. One of her favorite phrases “When you give up your dream it becomes a habit”.
