Football agents will earn a whopping €1 billion from transfers by the end of 2023, a FIFA report has revealed.

According to FIFA, there is currently a strong trend towards agents receiving huge commissions for transfers at the highest level. They received $696.6 million in the last summer window, about 10 percent of the total transfers for the period. For comparison, in 2013, agents “got” only 5.8 percent of the amount. Although there are more than 4 months left until the end of the year, FIFA is confident that the 1 billion mark will be reached easily, because so far the amount for agents in the calendar year is $865 million, or 38.8 percent more than in 2022.
It should be borne in mind that the FIFA report only takes into account international and not domestic transfers, meaning the actual total amount of agent commissions is already well over a billion.
