The Volkstümliche Musik from Tyrol, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic quickly gained a foothold when the consumer record player came onto the market in the early 1960s. Limburg families had already become acquainted with this music during holiday trips to their eastern neighbors. Bands from all over the province included polkas, Egerländer and Bohemian wind music in their repertoire.
