VINEXPOSIUM, WORLD NUMBER ONE
The Vinexposium company, owned by the CCI Bordeaux-Gironde and Comexposium, has also focused on strong international development, with 8 events organized around the world in 2023. And a complete 2024 program around Vinexpo Paris, Vinexpo New York (with a new local partner) and the return of Vinexpo Hong Kong, aimed at the Chinese public. “With the health crisis, we spent 2 years without turnover during which we maintained our workforce of around fifty employees. We are today the world leader in trade fairs for the wine and spirits sector, with a turnover of around 20 million euros in 2022,” says Patrick Seguin.
OBJECTIVE: BEST AIRPORT IN FRANCE!
The Bordeaux-Mérignac airport company, of which the Bordeaux-Gironde CCI is a 25% shareholder (and the State has a 60% stake), has for its part regained its pre-crisis level of attendance, with 7 million travelers in 2022. “We certainly have areas for improvement, but we have taken, with the State, the decision to invest 260 million euros to fundamentally transform the airport. The work will start and we hope that then its image will be better than currently,” he confides. Up to aiming for the position of “best airport in France within 2 years!” », says Patrick Seguin. Many companies in the aerospace and low-carbon aviation sectors have also expressed their desire to come and set up there.
SMALL RESULT IN 2024
The other subsidiaries of the CCI Bordeaux-Gironde, namely Kedge and the Campus du Lac, which is developing in Libourne through an investment of 2.6 million euros, “are also doing well”, assures Patrick Seguin . These private sources of financing constitute all new resources that the CCI will need to complete its budget, even though it has given up distributing dividends since the health crisis. “We have managed like a good family man and have the necessary cash flow to get through this milestone. Our budget will remain positive, with a small result expected in 2024. The reduction in our public resources will therefore have no impact on the teams in place,” he reassures. On the other hand, it is for “the small CCIs, particularly rural ones, that we are very worried,” warned Patrick Seguin, recalling that the CCIs have an obligation of solidarity between them.
