The Rise of Streaming: July Breaks Records with 38.7% of Total TV Usage

By Carlos PIRES,

July wasn’t just the hottest month in history.

It was also where the streaming segment was most successful in the United States. The figures reveal, in fact, that last month streaming reached a record 38.7% of total TV usage.

Blame it on a range of new original programs that arrived on streaming platforms in July, including The Witcher et The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Prime Video et The Bear on Hulu. Suits streaming on Netflix and Peacocket Bluey on Disney+ were the most-watched programs in the United States in July, totaling 23 billion minutes watched.
