“I am Russian!” — with these words, the singer Shaman pressed the nuclear button.

Now that our neighbor Russia has turned from a simple autocratic state into an analogue of an aggressive, revanchist Reich, open speculation about nuclear strikes on neighbors is no longer the domain of bilious uncles in suits.
It’s the turn of the youth, and the Kremlin’s efforts to involve them in a “patriotic” but essentially imperial, even in a sense Nazi (with foaming at the mouth denial) hysteria is best symbolized by the singer “Shaman”. Thanks to him, now starting a nuclear war is no longer a terrible thing, on the contrary – it’s cool. “Because I’m Russian!” he sings, pressing “the red button, and the full hall, consisting mainly of young people, cheers.
A typical symbol of “patriotic education” of youth, whose career has soared very high, is a certain 31-year-old Yaroslav Dronov, who is better known by the stage pseudonym “Shaman”. An ordinary musician who was little known before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but has now turned into a superstar, the “imported analogue” of Horst Wessel, the symbol of the Third Reich.
It should be recalled that Horst Wessel (1907-1930) was a Nazi activist who wrote the song “Die Fahne hoch”, which became the anthem of the Nazi Party and later the Third Reich. In 1930, he was killed by a communist, and Wesel’s halo of martyrdom was expertly inflated by the chief propagandist of the Third Reich, Joseph Goebbels.
Until then, the little-known “Shaman” had its star hour after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The day before the invasion, on February 23, he released the single “Vstaëm” (Let’s get up!) in honor of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, already on March 3, a grand solo concert was held in Moscow, followed by a tour of Russian cities, and on June 26, this clip made the news in full in the program “Vesti nedelii”, there was no case! The career of “Shaman” took off like a rocket, just like those that leveled Ukrainian cities to the ground at that time, “liberating” Ukrainians from the Nazis.
But the real super fame came on July 22 of last year, when his music video for the song “Ja russkij” (I’m Russian) was released, which collected a million views on the YouTube platform on the first day, and by October of this year – 42 million. The song was especially characterized by such phrases as “I’m Russian – I’m going to the end”, “I’m Russian – in spite of the whole world”, etc., which are suitable for the conditions of the aggressive war.
An ancient wisdom teaches: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” In the case of “Shaman” as well, the crystallization of the Reich in the minds of the youth was promoted gradually, although usually unobtrusively. For example, the teacher of Lyceum No. 186 of Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, told the children to stretch out their right hand while singing the song “I am Russian”, but to dissatisfied grumbling she answered: “Raise your hands! The push should be in the sky, to NATO!”. But those who did not want to sing were advised to emigrate. The post on social networks caused a scandal, but over time everything died down, “patriotic education” continued to gain momentum.
The singer’s presence in the Kremlin’s favor was evidenced by the fact that on the day of the Russian national flag on August 22, 2022, “Shaman” performed the Russian anthem on stage in Crimea, and on September 30, at the solemn event in Red Square in honor of the annexation of four regions of Ukraine, he warmed up President Vladimir himself Putin.
Increasingly in tune with his inner self, “Shaman” gained scandalous fame by recording his clip “Mi” (We) in Red Square on the birthday of Nazi Führer Adolf Hitler, dressed in appropriate Nazi-patriotic clothing.
Nothing special. Just a Nazi folk song sounds on Red Square. Goebbels applauds every line. pic.twitter.com/SE6yfhJGjZ

Needless to say, no sanctions were applied to him, on the contrary, in the modern Reich he is actually the most popular performer with whom the Kremlin hopes to attract young people. His clips and concerts are regularly shown on central Russian television channels.
What’s more, a former deputy who dared to compare “Shaman” to the Nazis was punished.
Former police officer from Blagoveshchensk Sergei Trush was fined for comparing Shaman to a Nazi. The reason was a parody where the Shaman is compared to the Nazi Aryan boy from the film “Cabaret”. The shaman (with a bandage on his arm like the Nazis) released his video for the song “We” on April 20 – in Hitler’s DR. pic.twitter.com/W1M9ksRAZY

Ironically, the analogies with the Nazis were so striking that even some Kremlin propagandists, who themselves hide behind the “anti-fascist” banner, but propagate purely Nazi views, only instead of Jews, they have Ukrainians and other “ungrateful” peoples and countries that must be returned to Russia, could not stand it. as part of the empire.
It was not without very apt curiosities. “Moi boi” (My Struggle) “Shaman” clip, released on September 9, 2023, was translated by YouTube as “Mein Kampf” in German subtitles. As you know, it is the name of Adolf Hitler’s famous book, in which he presents his worldview.
Just like Freud (screenshot from “YouTube”)
Obviously, after Nazi analogies and glorification of nuclear war, this young man’s creativity will reach new heights, brainwashing the new generation to turn them into Putin’s “cannon fodder”. After all, Hitler also resorted to the “Hitler Youth” teenagers and children at the end of the war to send them to certain death. It is quite possible that everything is yet to come.
