After the bloody attack by a (probably) right-wing extremist in Hanau, Germany, the politicians in Germany are unanimous: “Right-wing language must stop and the rise of right-wing populism must be curbed!”
While in principle we do not even know whether the attack in Germany was actually committed by a right-wing extremist or a psychotic madman, almost all German politicians are now arguing in favor of taking tough measures against the growing right-wing populist party Alternative für Deutschland ( AfD).
According to the established political order in Germany, the AfD is the source of evil. According to them, the party would identify itself with the same ideas as the shooter Tobias R. in Hanau.
According to Horst Seehofer, the German Federal Minister for the Interior, it is clear that it was a racially motivated terrorist attack. “Right-wing extremism travels through our country like a trail of blood,” says Seehofer.
