The Rise of Popular Music in Colombia: Fairs, Festivals, and Concerts Take Center Stage

Fairs, festivals, concerts box office hits, genre-specific stations and many, many playlists, is what popular music has achieved, not only in Colombia, but throughout the world. The ground has been won by hand with its artists who in the country have increases in their reproductions of up to 500% in the last year, according to Spotify figures.

Among the songs with the best numbers are ‘El malo’, ‘Señor prohibido’, ‘Amante y Amigo’, ‘Aventurero’, ‘El Guaro-Remix’, which are not only in digital media, but are also sung ‘through wounded scream’ at their concerts.
