The artist’s life completely changed in the shortest possible time.
Savely Kramarov is already known to more than one generation of viewers as one of the brightest Soviet artists. Over the years of his creative career, he managed to star in several dozen films and was considered a real living legend. However, his career in his homeland was unexpectedly interrupted in 1978.
Thus, the last film of the comedy legend was the work of Mark Genin “They drove a chest of drawers through the streets.” After her, Kramarov was no longer filmed by Soviet directors. He lived without work for three years, and then decided to emigrate to the United States.
The reason for unemployment was numerous articles in the press in which journalists attacked the artist. Allegedly, he puts the Soviet people in an unfavorable light, playing “fools”, going to the synagogue and getting into yoga, which is alien to his compatriots. In addition, his uncle emigrated to Israel, which cast a shadow on the artist’s reputation. And after that, many fans instantly changed their attitude towards the celebrity.
And it was precisely because of this that the directors were afraid to invite Kramarov into their works. But in the USA the artist failed to achieve great success. He starred in several high-profile films, but in episodic roles, and at the age of 60 he died, unable to cope with complications after surgery.
