Paul Ricoeur bequeathed his working library and entrusted the care of his archives to the Parisian library of the Protestant Institute of Theology (IPT), where he had given philosophy courses from the fall of 1958 to the spring of 1969. The Ricoeur Fund , which results from this donation, is first and foremost a documentary collection, bringing together some 12,000 publications and 60,000 archive sheets, in a dedicated space of 300 square meters, located on the top floor of the IPT-Paris Documentary Center . It has been among the “Collections of Excellence” of the GIS CollEx-Persée since 2019.
The website dedicated to the Paul Ricoeur Archives on the DAN library has been launched on January 5, 2023: https://dan.ipt-edu.fr/s/fonds-ricoeur
The Ricoeur Fund is also a research center backed by this documentary fund. Led by a scientific council and supported by an international network of correspondents, it is jointly supported by the IPT and the Center for Research on Arts and Language (UMR 8566, EHESS/CNRS) within the framework of a partnership agreement between the IPT and the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences. Among the actions carried out in this context, the Ricoeur Fund publishes the peer-reviewed journal Études Ricœuriennes/Ricœur Studies in collaboration with the Society for Ricoeur Studies, and it organizes annual scientific meetings (a thematic seminar, a doctoral students’ workshop, summer workshops), as well as various conferences and study days.
