the Rezé vaccination center will close on July 31

The Rezé vaccination center, located at La Trocardière, will close its doors on Saturday, July 31. A decision taken by the prefecture which causes the incomprehension of the mayor of the city, Hervé Neau, while the government and the head of state are betting on vaccination to deal with the Delta variant of the coronavirus and avoid having to take new ones drastic restrictive measures. Until last week, 7,000 doses were injected every week in Rezé.

Change of strategy

The state services have justified this closure by a change in strategy: it should make it possible to go and vaccinate where, for the moment, few people have received their injections. By opening, for example, ephemeral vaccination centers in certain neighborhoods. It should also make it possible to send the personnel of the firefighters who coordinated the center until then. at Nantes-Atlantique airport to control and track travelers from countries classified as “red zone”.

Two dates kept for the second injection

The inhabitants of Rezé will therefore have to go elsewhere, to the Beaujoire vaccinodrome or to the Vertou vaccination center, for example, to receive their first injection. Two dates have indeed been kept in Rezé August 26 and 27 to allow first-time vaccines to receive their second injection.
