This version aims to present the essence of Tang Xianzu’s “The Peony Pavilion”. On the premise of ensuring that the storyline is relatively complete and the emotional context of the characters is clear and touching, it has been re-condensed and integrated, and the classic excerpts from the original work that are often performed and loved by the audience are focused on retained. , striving to fully present to the audience this love legend that spans life and death, which is full of conflicts between ideals and reality, and full of strong romanticism.
The plate is pressed together, the water sleeves are turned, the sound of the piano is trembling, and the lyrics are chanted and sighed, which makes people ecstasy. The entire performance references century-old architectural heritage and ancient scenery. In the 90-minute performance, it condenses the beauty and emotion of “The Peony Pavilion”, including a dream of love in “A Garden Tour” and the shocking feeling of lovesickness in “A Dream”. Dew, but also the strong emotions of yin and yang in “Leaving the Soul”. At the same time, with the concept of “enjoy the elegant banquet first, then enjoy the elegant opera”, catering and Kunqu opera are cleverly combined to create a Chinese poetic dreamland and provide the audience with a cultural feast that will amaze the audience.
