The supposed Wagner defector Andrej Medvedev has returned to Norway after being in custody in Sweden.
His defender Brynjulf Risnes confirms this The daily newspaper.
– He came back at the beginning of the week, writes Risnes in an SMS to the newspaper on Friday.
Medvedev traveled to Sweden at Easter. There he was arrested by Swedish police because he does not have a residence permit in the country. He has since been in custody at the Swedish Migration Agency.
Medvedev fled to Norway on 13 January and has applied for asylum, which means that he cannot leave the country while the application is being processed.
According to the Russian human rights activist Vladimir Osetshkin, Medvedev took the bus to Gothenburg because the prices of cigarettes are lower in Sweden than in Norway. He is said to have arrived late for the bus back and was then arrested.
