It’s official, Oasis are back after 15 years of silence. And they’ll be touring the UK and Ireland next year. The band announced it on the X social network. So far, they are planning 14 concerts during July and August. “If I had to bet on something, it would be that they will definitely play all the hits,” estimates music columnist Honza Vedral, editor-in-chief of Headliner magazine, in an interview for Radiožurnál.

Why do you think Oasis are getting back together now? Is there anything more known about the relationship between the two brothers now?
Apparently, they managed to at least agree on being able to be on the same stage together. There has been non-stop speculation about a comeback for 15 years, since Oasis has not been a band. It comes a year after Liam Gallagher celebrated 30 years since Oasis’ debut with massive sold-out concerts.

How prominently have the band members been seen in the music industry in the past fifteen years?
Both had their solo projects. They performed relatively successful concerts, especially in their home country of Great Britain. Liam Gallagher, who has always been the lead singer of Oasis, mainly focused on older hits. But he also had his own records.
Noel Gallagher, who has the band High Flying Birds, deviated more from the Oasis script. He was or always is more the composer of the band. So let’s say the records were maybe more experimental, maybe musically more interesting, but the finale of his concerts always belonged to Oasis songs.
Is it already clear what the band will go on tour with? If we can expect new songs – it’s still a year after all – or will it be more of the old tried and true songs?
We don’t know anything officially at this point. The British media are even speculating that the return of Oasis does not mean the return of the band Oasis that fans knew, because it is not just the Gallagher brothers.

We only know that Noel and Liam will participate in the comeback, but we don’t know which musicians will play with them. The British tabloid writes that they have agreed that it will not be the former bandmates who played in the band now with Liam, but that it will be the High Flying Birds bandmates who played with Noel.

If we were to narrow it down only to the British Isles, then there is no doubt that it is an absolute phenomenon that has not cooled down. Fans are still hot for those songs. And when I had the opportunity to see both Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher live on the islands, the atmosphere, especially when they played Oasis songs, was absolutely incredible and the concerts were always full.
