the return of fairs and exhibitions to Strasbourg

It’s official : from next June 30, no more restrictive gauges for the organization of fairs, shows or other major events. The time has come for the resumption of Strasbourg Events (or Strasbourg Evénement), which every year organizes more than 250 events for 750,000 visitors to the region.

The Strasbourg European Fair

The 89th edition of the Strasbourg European Fair will be held from September 3 to 13, 2021. It will be placed under the theme of “trades of excellence and artistic craftsmanship”, explains Alexandra Rousier, president of the Strasbourg Events management board, with an emphasis on local and short circuits. “We will also host an E-sport festival, the ‘Start to Play’, and two or three events which we still keep the surprise”, she says.

Without gauge but obviously with sanitary protocol, “the only unknown remains that of the form that the health pass will take”: mobile application, paper format, it will be necessary anyway to prove that one is vaccinated, tested negative or immunized because one has already been contaminated by the coronavirus.

Other upcoming events

Before the fair, two congresses of less than 1,000 people will take place in Strasbourg. Then will come the Mondial des vins Blancs from October 2 to 3, and the contemporary art fair ST-ART from November 26 to 28.

The recovery after a black year for events

“This recovery is doing us a lot of good”, confides Alexandra Rousier. After more than a year of partial activity, Strasbourg Events saw its turnover divided by four in 2020 : just over five million, instead of nearly 20 million in 2019.

The teams are also delighted to soon be able to present the new Exhibition Center, the first four halls of which are due to be delivered in June 2022. 25,000 brand new square meters which will host the 90th edition of the Strasbourg Fair.
