The Resurgence of Piracy: Why I Ditched Streaming Services and Embraced the Pirate Hat Again

Yes, not so long ago I hung up my pirate hat because it was “no longer necessary”. I had sufficient income and, more importantly, it was easier and clearer to take Netflix and Videoland for the bulk and later one changing service flew me to all the films and series I could wish for.

However, a while later I noticed that the changing services no longer changed, but they stuck around and became more and the offer on Netflix noticeably decreased. It felt like trying to figure out what to cancel and enable next so I wouldn’t end up with a mega bill for streaming. The services also became more and more expensive. More money for less.

At the same time I was done with another new generation of console and my love for PCs and PC gaming started to blossom again. So my console was not replaced by one of the new generation, but by a nice PC. But a PC is like a ship that can do much more than just bring goods from A to B. Cannons can also be mounted there….

Then I looked outside and saw that pirate hat hanging in the willows and looked at all the costs for all the streaming services that were becoming less and less compliant. I walked outside, took my pirate hat from the willows and the rest is history.
