the response of the prefect and the academic director to elected officials

The Prefect of Côte-d’Or, Fabien SUDRY, and Pascale COQ, the academic director of Côte-d’Or, have taken note of the wish expressed by the Departmental Council of Côte-d’Or, calling for the implementation place of a moratorium on the closing of classes in primary schools and the global hourly allocation in colleges for the start of the 2021 school year. This initiative is obviously not too appreciated because in a joint press release published this Wednesday, March 17, they draw up a full point in the educational establishments of the department.

They would like to recall the following points:

In the 1st degree:

 the resources allocated by the State for the preparation of re-entry into the 1st degree have never been so high according to the prefect and the director of the academy. The gold Coast will lose more than 700 students in September and nevertheless benefits from 2 additional positions ;

no school will close at the start of the 2021 school year

 the balance between the 41 closings and the 36 class openings pronounced at the end of the CDEN of February 5, 2021 makes it possible to continue theimprovement of supervision rates, in urban areas as well as in rural areas;

 in priority education, the duplication of classes of large kindergarten section of CP and CE1, fully carried out since the start of the 2020 school year in REP and REP + schools, continue by preserving a favorable average number of pupils in the other classes;

 apart from priority education, the maximum of 24 students Kindergarten, CP and CE1 large section classes 70% to 94% of schools will increase at the start of the school year, while maintaining a favorable average number of pupils in the other classes;

 finally, the structures and resources dedicated to welcoming pupils who have recently arrived in France are maintained.

In the 2nd degree:

 in an academic context of downsizing (269 fewer students), the department is called upon to contribute, in a measured manner, to the effort of solidarity and national equity to support academies in strong demographic expansion;

the distribution of resources made available to colleges in Côte-d’Or takes into account the specific difficulties of each of them, whether it concerns social, economic, educational or territorial criteria (situation in priority education zone, remoteness linked to rurality).

In the 1st degree as in the 2nd degree:

 Support for the education of students with disabilities is facilitated by the creation of 20 inclusive poles (PIAL), 3 additional ULIS (1 in the 1st stage and 2 in the 2nd stage) and several teaching units outsourced;

the initial endowment of each school structure could of course be reviewed in June, within the framework of adjustments taking into account the consolidated workforce, at the end of the transfer decisions and as close as possible to the final registrations.

The prefect sums up all this by explaining that “the increasing resources made available by the State will enable the public education service to operate in very good conditions for the next school year, with a reinforced priority for the first degree which will never have benefited globally from such high supervision resources in Côte-d’Or. “
