The story of Rohana had seized the attention of the wider public in Malaysia and Indonesia earlier this year because the Muslim girl was successfully cared for and raised by the figure Chee Hoi Lan (83) of different races and religions. In addition, Rohana admitted that he did not have citizenship in Malaysia.
Reported Harian Metro Malaysia on Saturday (30/4/2022), Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur, Hermono hopes that Rohana can realize her dreams as she has always dreamed of.
He said that his party also thanked the Government of Malaysia and the Prime Minister (PM) of Malaysia Ismail Sabri Yakob who had provided a good solution to the case faced by Rohana.
“This story is truly extraordinary, in terms of spirit and will and the relationship between Rohana and Hoi Lan until the Prime Minister himself noticed,” said Hermono.
“I also hope that Rohana can repay the kindness of the government (Malaysia), serve her new country and the foster mother who raised her,” he added.
Hermono also expressed his appreciation to Harian Metro Malaysia and Gulam Muszaffar, Head of the Batu Malaysia Zone of Representatives who raised the issue.
