It is important that the municipality can offer this resource to students with these needs. Through the resource school, we can create a safe and adapted environment where the students receive the support and teaching they need to succeed in their schooling, says Ingrid Cassel (M), chairman of the education committee.
The activity, which will be located at Borgsmoskolan, offers twelve places in grades 6–8 in autumn 2024. The number of places at the resource school is limited so that the design of the activity meets the students’ needs. It is planned for more locations in the coming years. Pupils in the resource school receive individually tailored teaching in a smaller student group. They also meet staff with special skills for their needs.
The start of the resource school at Borgsmoskolan is a step to ensure that all students, regardless of need, have the opportunity to reach their full potential at school. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student feels seen, respected and supported in their development and look forward to working together to create a meaningful and positive learning environment, says Jonas Eriksson, director of education.
The teaching takes place according to the primary school’s curricula, goals and timetable.
