The resignation of the cabinet will not lead to serious problems with next year’s budget – 2024-07-30 19:49:47

/ world today news/ The resignation of the government will not lead to serious problems with the budget for next year. Economists and financiers have united around this opinion.

If the government resigns, there are at least two options, Lyubomir Datsov believes. The first is for the government to withdraw the budget from the parliament, as there has already been a similar case, and the second is for the National Assembly, if it remains to work, to adopt this budget, which will be implemented by a caretaker government or a newly elected cabinet.

Whichever of the two options happens, it is not so scary, because the law foresees such a case – state institutions do not stop working, the payment of pensions does not stop, there is simply no additional money for new policies, commented Datsov.

The budget for next year does not differ much from this year’s, and therefore, even if it is not adopted next month and a half, it should not be a problem, Ruslan Stefanov believes.

We are long overdue to see something more significant from a policy perspective through the budget, not an almost automatic repeat. For the past ten years, the budgets have been made in the same way, so in this regard, I don’t think there will be a big drama, said Stefanov.

According to Lachezar Bogdanov, it makes no sense for the parliament to make an effort to adopt a budget that will be implemented by the next cabinet and another National Assembly when the government resigns.

There is a possibility, quite legitimate, if the political structure and will of the main participants – whether this government or some other – ex officio, are changed, to spend a lot more until Christmas, in fact we will again have a deficit budget, he commented.
