The Republican Party and Donald Trump oppose support for Ukraine, Politico reports Photo: Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
Due to political changes in the United States and the activity of potential presidential candidate Donald Trump, American support for Ukraine is decreasing. This could lead to Kyiv losing the conflict with Russia in the first half of 2024. This was stated by former US Ambassador to NATO Ivo Daalder.
“Donald Trump is starting to become active [в преддверии президентских выборов]This means that Ukraine may lose support. This leads to the defeat of Kyiv already in the first half of 2024,” wrote Ivo Daalder in material Politico.
At the beginning of December last year, the US Senate blocked allocation of aid to Ukraine. Republicans turned out to be against supporting Kyiv. Trump is the party’s presidential candidate. Currently, representatives of the Republican Party are initiating bills aimed at excluding incumbent President Joe Biden from list of candidates for a new term. US elections are scheduled for 2024.
