Would you be willing to take a trip on the “Titanic” if you knew that the trip would end in disaster? It will be possible to do so in the near or distant future. Billionaire Clive Palmer from Australia has big plans. His company “Blue Star Line” is building a replica of the famous “Titanic”, reports “Daily Star”.
According to the media, Clive predicted that his “Titanic II” would start sailing in 2022, but the plans have not come true.
Ten years ago, in 2013, the billionaire announced that his company would build a ship and it would be almost the same as the famous “Titanic”.
During these years, while building the impressive ship, the company has faced not a single problem, starting from financial troubles, ending with various technical absences, which have all together delayed the ship’s departure. It is currently unknown when it will start its journey, the new date has not been set.
To honor the original ship, Titanic II will sail the same route as the famous liner that hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage between Southampton and New York. Of course, the new Titanic II will have more advanced safety features and navigation technology than the 1912 ship.
It is reported that the deck of the new “Titanic II” will look exactly the same as the old one, it will be almost identical. Interestingly, passengers on the new ship will also be divided into three categories – first class, second class and third class.
It is estimated that “Titanic II” will be able to carry approximately 2400 passengers and 900 crew members at the same time.
