President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has not disclosed who will be the definitive successor of the minister of maritime and fisheries to replace Edhy Prabowo. Executive Director of Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Ujang Komarudin, gave his prediction. “There will be a cold war between Prabowo and Jokowi. Will be suspicious of each other and will find fault with each other. His feelings are certainly uncomfortable. And maybe he will make calculations in his own way,” said Ujang Komarudin to SINDOnews, Friday (27/11 / 2020). If the seat of the minister of maritime affairs and fisheries replacing Edhy Prabowo is given to another party, he predicts that the Gerindra Party will arrange a strategy so that the party is maintained and that Prabowo Subianto’s electability also does not decrease. “There are only two possibilities. It could be softened. Or the opposite could be harsh in criticizing the government. Or there could be other attitudes, namely playing in the middle,” he concluded. Just to note, Edhy Prabowo is one of the seven suspects in the alleged bribery case related to the lobster seed export license. Edhy Prabowo was arrested by the KPK at Soekarno Hatta Airport on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the morning when he returned from Honolulu, United States.
Edhy Prabowo and five other recipients are suspected of violating Article 12 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 Year 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 Year 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st KUHP in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) KUHP.
