The Renault car company has been churning out one new product after another in recent months. This time we are tempted by the premiere of the new Kardian crossover. It is interesting that this particular car is not new in the true sense of the word. It was introduced to Europeans three long years ago. We even had the opportunity to ride several times…
The Renault Kardian will actually be “just” a rebranded Dacia, specifically the Sander Stepway. The Romanian car manufacturer is extremely successful in a number of European markets and is particularly important for the business of the entire alliance. However, it does not officially operate in some corners of the world, so Renault imports its models there with its own logo. This is also the case with the Kardian, which is intended to be sold exclusively outside of Europe.
Even before the ceremonial unveiling, the car showed us the exterior silhouette and gave us a look inside the cabin. From the outside, we can notice the Renault logo, but also the diode lighting technology and the chrome lines between the main headlights. So it’s clear that even though the car comes from Dacia, it won’t be a cheapie. The relationship with the Romanian model is actually revealed only by the silhouette.

At first glance, Kardian successfully disguises its origins.
We can also see in the cabin that no expense was spared during the construction of the car. It will get a digital instrument panel, an eight-inch center screen of the multimedia system, and ambient lighting in the door panels. We can also notice the completely new and minimalist automatic transmission controller. The driver will even be able to choose from several driving modes.
Kardian is less than 4.15 meters long, slightly taller than its Romanian sibling. The world debut will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 25, when the brand will present, among other things, a new international strategy and another concept of a still mysterious car. Kardian will first start selling in Latin America, then its scope will expand to other markets. We are unlucky, such a car would not make sense next to the Sander Stepway.
