The remuneration of the head coach of the Latvian national football team Dainis Kazakevics has remained at the current level after the extension of the contract.
In March, the Latvian Football Federation extended its contract with Kazakevich for two years – until the end of 2024. “We started the negotiations a couple of months ago, we wanted to agree on a potential extension of the contract until the first camp. As usual, there were discussions on some positions.
I am very pleased that a mutually acceptable solution has been agreed and that there is an opportunity to continue working with the national team. This gives even more motivation to achieve a result in the League of Nations this year.
For two years we have been focusing on improving performance and results, for further growth it is very important to rise to the C league and play with other level opponents, to earn more attention in the world of football, ”Kazakevičs commented yesterday.
He pointed out that the salary has not changed, but a bonus system is provided for the achieved results. According to the information available to Latvijas Avīze, Kazakevičs receives several times less than his Slovenian predecessor Slaviša Stojanovičs, whose salary was 11–14 thousand euros per month. There is no provision for automatic contract renewal for certain purposes.
Today at 14.00, the Latvian national team will meet with Kuwait in a test match in Malta, live on TV6. “We have worked usefully in training, we are preparing for the Games of the League of Nations in June, we will check the readiness of specific players. There is a wide range of players that are not available in this camp – nine of them who were regularly called to the national team last year, ”said Dainis Kazakevičs.
