“We are determined to organize a safe Children’s Day, minimizing the risks of Covid-19 and following the safety measures recommended by the SPKC. That is why in the short distances we have indicated on the start numbers the exact time interval in which the child and parents must go on the track. “In order to minimize the risks of gatherings, we have eliminated all off-course activities and entertainment that encourage crowding and being together,” said Aigars Nords, director of the marathon, about limiting the risks of Covid-19.

From Monday, September 28 to October 10, the start numbers of the Children’s Day can be picked up at the shopping center “Alfa”, shopping center “Spice” and Pulkveža Brieža Street 33a “Rimi” store information center. In turn, the start numbers of the Family Race will be equipped with a special time measuring chip, therefore they, like the marathon day numbers, will be delivered via the marathon’s official courier DPD. Participants of the Family Race will be able to receive their numbers at the selected DPD Pickup Point – the desired DPD Pickup Point, by filling in the questionnaire, can be indicated to the participants of the Family Race until September 30 (more info on the website).

The small tracks – “Happy” for babies, 200 m and 400 m – will be open on October 10 from 10.00 to 14.00 with the starting principle: as you come, go to the track. “Happy” Babies track will be located in the Freedom Monument Square, while the 200 m track will be to the right of the Freedom Monument with a finish at the Latvian National Opera, while the 400 m track on the other side of the monument – with a finish at the foot of Bastejkalns. “Happy” will also provide new mothers and dads with a baby changing area near the “Happy” baby track.
