The remake of The Witcher will offer fans an open world

The requests from fans of the Witcher series and developers have finally been heard officially informed on developing a remake of the original The Witcher. CD Projekt RED hasn’t been generous with the details, but we know for sure that the updated version will receive open world.

In the 2007 original The Witcher, players could operate in certain locations. They were spacious enough, but you wouldn’t call it an open world by today’s standards. In a remake of the iconic RPG, the developers will expand the game world and make it open, fully accessible to explore.

This was reported by the developers themselves in early October, when presented line of future projects. CD Projekt RED then announced a mysterious game codenamed Project Canis Majoris, which would later become The Witcher Remake. In an official appeal by the authors of the game, the presence of an open world was directly indicated.

The remake of The Witcher is produced by Fool’s Theory and is under the full control of the creative directors of CD Projekt RED.
