The Last of Us Part II managed to win countless awards in 2020. It was a relatively controversial title, but definitely a success, so it’s no wonder that Sony has no plans to end the brand. The direct continuation will probably not arrive in the coming years, but several smaller projects are planned. About the first one he spoke first time journalist Jason Schreier in one of his last year articles. This is a remake of the first part on PlayStation 5, which is allegedly made in the Naughty Dog studio, which is behind the original game.
It’s really weird to see a remake of the game, which was released less than 10 years ago and also got a remaster, but it’s a relatively logical step on the part of Sony. The expected series from HBO is to be released this year, which could significantly increase game sales. And that brings us to a new report brought yesterday by the well-known insider Tom Henderson. He wrote on his Twitter that, according to several of his sources, he is remake The Last of Us almost completed a could come out in the second half of this year.
Heard from multiple people now that the TLOU remake is nearly finished and could release during the latter half of 2022???? pic.twitter.com/ZxmNU7zS9k

But that’s not all, Henderson continues to say he is also preparing multiplayer for the second part (which is more or less public information), for which it is still uncertain whether it will be an expansion or a stand-alone game. And besides, he is said to be preparing as well director’s cut versionwhich Sony probably liked quite a bit, because last year we saw the directorial editing of the games Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding. Henderson doesn’t know anything about the release date of these projects yet, but he personally thinks they could come out together with the remake of number one, and really kick off the autumn season.
But I think the overall goal here is to drum up hype for the HBO show, so we’ll see what happens – And to be honest, Q3/Q4 2022 for Sony looks a little lackluster at the moment. So we’ll see what happens!
Exciting times ahead! ????
