Although the cursed town par excellence in video games is fictional, it still has a lore and a location behind it that we have all been speculating for years about what it specifically is. After searching and searching for hours, a well-known industry insider has found clues in the remake of Silent Hill 2 that show that the town is in a place of common nightmares for readers around the world.
And after exploring Silent Hill in the Bloober Team game, the well-known user from Twitter Dusk Golem has found evidence that the town is specifically in the state of Maine. This is how he discovered a newspaper dispenser with the name Maine News, which shows that Silent Hill is in the state where the master of horror literature is from.

And Stephen King was not only born in Portland, capital of the state of Maine, but it is where he sets practically all of his novels. Bloober Team surprises and marks a great remake
After months and months, or years, of mistrust, the Polish studio has managed to respect the essence of one of the most emblematic survival horror in history, while also being able to add new elements without breaking with it.
“The target of all kinds of ridicule, the developer has prevailed over doubts and hate with impeccable work that now appears on the list of the best remakes in history,” said our colleague David Arroyo in his analysis. “It finds a delicate balance that preserves and enhances absolutely everything: combat, puzzles, exploration and tone.”
Silent Hill 2 will be available tomorrow on PlayStation 5 and PC.
