The remains of the apartment block, which collapsed in Miami last week, is torn through a controlled blast, writes AFP. It is 12 days since the accident happened.
The demolition was accelerated due to the announced hurricane Elsa.
The remains of the building were taken down using explosives.
AP writes that the demolition on Sunday is also important for resuming the search for the missing, as new parts can be opened to search, including in the garage facility under the building.

So far, 24 dead have been found, and no one has been found alive since the first hours after the tragedy occurred.
A spokesman for the authorities has previously stated to the AP that the rescue crews can resume the search as soon as between 15 and 60 minutes after the building was leveled.
Last week it became known that the chairman of the board for the building that collapsed warned that damage that had been proven in 2018 had gotten worse.

The Florida government is preparing now that Hurricane Elsa, which has already ravaged the Caribbean must hit the mainland of the state.
Yesterday, Governor Ron DeSanti declared a state of emergency for 15 counties in Florida.
– We are getting ready for tornadoes, heavy rain and floods, he said.
