The Relocation of the New Capital Becomes More Real, The Presidential Palace Starts To Be Built This Year

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Minister of National Development Planning / Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, said that the relocation of the new capital will continue and this year the target is that the Presidential Palace will begin construction.

Although currently the government is still focused on tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, Suharso revealed that the plan to relocate the capital is still ongoing.

The project for the new capital will begin with the construction of the Presidential Palace.

It is hoped that the ground breaking of the new Presidential Palace can be carried out this year.

“We are optimistic, hopefully the Presidential Palace can have a ground breaking (starting to be built) this year.” Suharso said during a joint working meeting with the DPR Commission XI, Wednesday (17/3/2021).

With the construction of the State Palace starting this year, the new capital city project is targeted to be completed quickly.
