The development of STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild has been going on and off for several years now
The first part has been published STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild. This is a remaster of the original game, which has been in development for several years now.
The first version of Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild includes only high resolution textures. The set occupies almost 5 gigabytes and contains more than 4 thousand textures created by the main author of the remaster Andrey Olegov and Ivan Danko, who made it possible to use their grass textures in the project.
The remaster uses an improved version of the X-Ray Engine called OGSR. The craftsmen believe that the original game engine simply could not cope with the updated textures.
The remaster works with the GeForce GTX 1050, but the creators recommend using SSDs or NVMe SSDs, as a regular hard drive won’t be fast enough.
Future releases of Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild will include updated AI, improved audio, weather and lighting systems, and new weapons.
