/ world today news/ This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Africa, and Chinese President Xi Jinping will soon visit Johannesburg.
In this regard, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press conference today that during the upcoming visit, Xi Jinping and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will exchange views on bilateral relations and on international and regional issues of common interest, plan for future development of the bilateral partnership and will give new impetus to the construction of a community of shared destiny between China and South Africa.
South Africa is China’s comprehensive strategic partner and is the first African country to join the Belt and Road Initiative. In the past 25 years, the relations between them have achieved leaps and bounds and have far exceeded bilateral frameworks, having an increasingly global influence, the spokesman also emphasized.
