Concerts will take place in Riga, Livani, Cesis, Blidene, Adazi, Liepaja, Iecava, Valmiera, Ogre and elsewhere in Latvia. The premiere is scheduled for this Sunday, February 20, in Sigulda, in the concert hall “Devons”.
“Inspired by my grandmother’s collection of poems, I tried to bring the characters to life so that she could read and sing them in an attractive way with her son Richard. It was a heartfelt book with lovely and understandable images from my childhood. “I am convinced that together we have created a wonderful gift for every family with curious, creative and music-loving children,” says the author and performer of the project, Rūta Reinika-Preisa.
Rūta’s brother, a popular musician Lauris Reiniks emphasizes that children are a demanding and honest audience, so composing for the youngest listeners is a big challenge. “The main evaluator was little Richard, who, fortunately, was ready to listen to the songs over and over again,” says the songwriter.
Lauris Reiniks, Rūta Reinika-Preisa, Edgars Šteins, Beāte Svarinska, Anita Levša, Sofija Timma and Ričards Preiss will attend the concert performance. The producer of the song studio included in the performance is Jānis Zvirgzdiņš, the author of the illustrations is Guna Miķelsone, the choreographer Beāte Svarinska, the costume designer Anita Znutiņa, the set designer Egīls Kupčs, the director Valdis Pavlovskis and the producer Jānis Kļaviņš.
The book of poems and coloring for children “Richie Roo Organizes a Concert”, which is supplemented with an album of 11 songs, is a cherish and collaboration of the Reinik family. The author of the children’s poems is grandmother Veronika Reinika, whose poetry has been turned into music by her grandson Lauris Reiniks, while the author and leader of the project idea is her granddaughter Rūta Reinika-Preisa.
