The Energy Regulatory Office (ERÚ) will announce changes in the regulated component of energy prices at a press conference today. He has already announced that he plans to increase next year by around 70%. This is likely to be felt by households as well, as the regulated component forms part of the total price that customers pay for electricity and gas. The regulatory authority has already indicated that the regulated component of the energy price will increase. On Thursday at noon, they will definitely announce how big the increase will be. At the end of October, the authority submitted a proposal for a 71% increase in the price for households.

Web iRozhlas.cz then found that the Ministry of Industry and Trade managed to find three billion in savings, and the growth of the regulated component should thus be slower. But the difference should be only three percentage points, so it would be a 68% price increase.

The price increase is likely to be reflected in the final prices for customers, because the regulated component is part of them and its amount is decided by ERO every year. “In it, we pay for the operation, maintenance, strengthening or innovation of networks, or for the safe and reliable operation of systems. In addition, for electricity, a contribution is collected for electricity from subsidized energy sources,” the office clarifies.

The unregulated part of the price is determined by the suppliers themselves, from whom customers buy electricity and gas. “This is a classic market price, which is derived from the price of the commodity on the stock exchange (i.e. the prices of power electricity and natural gas on the wholesale markets) and is governed by the business strategy of a particular supplier,” adds ERÚ.
