On Tuesday, these meetings, which aim to address the themes of sustainable development which are at the heart of the concerns of each region and to ensure their articulation with the strategic orientations of the future SNDD, will be held in the regions of Souss -Massa (Agadir) and Oriental (Oujda), while they will take place on Wednesday, March 15, in the regions of Béni Mellal-Khénifra (Béni Mellal) and Marrakech-Safi (Marrakesh).

On this occasion, Ms. Benali emphasized the importance of this consultative process which, she said, mobilizes all the stakeholders, both at central and territorial level, the aim being to lay the foundations for more sustainable development.

She specified that this stage of consultation, which will be carried out with the participation of all local, territorial, public and private actors and stakeholders, will be an opportunity to analyze the situation in order to lay the groundwork for good governance through the dissecting the challenges of sustainable development in each region and defining priorities, in addition to proposing solutions capable of making regional development a global, balanced and sustainable development.

At the same time, an interactive citizen consultation platform (www.noussahimo.gov.ma) will be set up to collect the views and opinions of citizens in Morocco and abroad, with the aim of ensuring the success of this strategic project. , said the minister.

At the end of this consultation process, a National Conference should be organized during the summer to present the updated version of the SNDD which will take into account the conclusions of the various consultations and the roadmap for its implementation, he added. she lets you know.

Returning to the evaluation of the SNDD, adopted in 2017, Ms. Benali reviewed the various achievements relating to its implementation, in particular the dynamics initiated promoting the administration’s adherence to the challenges of this Strategy and of sustainable development in general. , the governance established with a view to a fluid exchange between the departments and the establishment of a digital platform allowing more efficiency in the monitoring of the implementation.

In order to fill certain gaps relating to its optimal execution, in particular the performance indicators and the convergence between the frameworks of the SNDD and the SDGs, Ms. Benali recommended the implementation of a strategy which contributes to the achievement of the orientations of the New Development Model (NMD) and its inclusion in sustainability by 2035.

It is also a question of defining an integrated and intersectoral vision in a logic of convergence of public policies and strategies, in order to strengthen the synergies necessary for the achievement of national priorities in terms of sustainable development, in addition to the identification of objectives measurable (targets and indicators) marked out over time.

Adopted by the Council of Ministers, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI on June 25, 2017, the National Strategy for Sustainable Development constitutes a reference framework for all sectoral programs. It has made it possible to strengthen convergence between sectoral strategies to achieve sustainable and inclusive development.

In order to meet national and global challenges and issues of an economic, political or environmental nature, and with the aim of operationalizing the orientations of NMD and advanced regionalization, this Strategy has been updated so that it constitutes a lever capable of enshrining social justice, consolidating human development, reducing social and territorial disparities, promoting the status of women and children and ensuring the right to development for future generations.
