The Regional Health Agency (ARS) published the latest figures for the epidemic this afternoon at a press conference. In Maine-et-Loire, the incidence rate, which corresponds to the number of people infected over one week per 100,000 inhabitants, amounts to 243, an increase of 19% over the last seven days. The positive rate is 7.1 in our department.

« The figures are not good, even if they remain below national indicators. There is a form of concern for us with figures that reveal an increasingly strong viral circulation », Warns Jean-Jacques Coiplet, director of the ARS Pays de la Loire.

In the department, 236 people are currently hospitalized, 48 of which are in intensive care.

« According to the latest figures from the CPAM, the home represents 38% of the causes of Covid-19 contamination, work 12% and meals with family or friends 13% », Says Dr Jean-Yves Gagner.

Soon a large vaccination center by department

The director of the ARS Pays de la Loire announced that the four departments of the region should host a very large vaccination center after the Easter weekend. Each center will have 1,000 to 2,000 doses of vaccine available per day. In Maine-et-Loire, this very large vaccination center could be set up within the Parc des Expositions.
