The regime wanted to hang two demonstrators. Then the people mobilized.

ISTANBUL (Aftenposten): There have been fewer protests in Iran in recent weeks. But that doesn’t have to mean they die.

A priest holds up a photo of Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran during a pro-regime rally over the weekend. The clergy forcefully represses any approach to new demonstrations, but activists believe they cannot yet quell the wave of protests.

A crowd had gathered outside the notorious Rajai Shahr Jail on Monday night. The prison is located near the city of Karaj in Iran and is notorious for its brutal treatment of prisoners.

The crowd shouted slogans against the Supreme Leader of Iran. Among them was a woman. In videos shared by Iranian activists on social media, people are seen flocking to detain her.
