/ world today news/ On October 2-3, 2015, a seminar will be held in the village of Momchilovtsi, Smolyan region, on the topic “The refugee crisis – is there a risk for the ethno-cultural model in Europe?”.
The event is organized on the initiative of the Bulgarian delegation
socialists in the EP with the assistance of the National Movement “Bulgarian Heritage”.
The head of the delegation of the Bulgarian socialists in the EP will take part and
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs
row Iliana Yotova, MEPs Georgi Pirinski and Momchil Nekov, the people’s representative
representative from BSP Left Bulgaria – Dora Yankova, as well as 15 representatives of
the academic community in Bulgaria. In the course of the discussion, politicians and scientists together will
are looking for models for new approaches and policies to deal with the refugee crisis which
Europe has so far failed to master it.
The seminar will cover the following topics:
– Migrations – history and political realities in today’s united Europe.
– European migration policy through the prism of international
practices.
– The specificity of the external land border of the Union. European politics
against Turkey.
– The Visegrad group and the migration policy of the EU, discord in Europe?
The reaction of the SD Group in the EP.
– Interaction and possible conflicts with refugee communities in the Balkans –
ways to avoid “ghettoization”.
– Problems of perceptions and media images of the refugee flow in the EU.
