The referees made two mistakes in Sparta, Hlavatý should have been sent off, according to the commission

The FAČR Referee Commission criticized the referees for three fouls after the 14th round of the first league. They made two mistakes in Sparta’s favor in Saturday’s duel with Ostrava at Letná, where they should not have recognized Prague’s goal and in the end they should have canceled out Matěj Ryneš. In České Budějovice, the referee pardoned Michal Hlavaté from Liberec the second yellow, i.e. red card. The commission said this in a statement.

In terms of mistakes, the last round was one of the least successful of the season so far. Based on the handbook, the Commission always publicly evaluates four situations chosen by the media. She criticized the referees for the higher number of touches only in the 7th round.

On Saturday in Sparta, the referees, led by Dalibor Černý, first made a mistake in the 12th minute, when they recognized the goal of the home team Asger Sörensen to make it 1:0, even though a defender played of Denmark with his hand. Video referee Ondřej Berka should have intervened.

“A player of the home team hit the ball with his hand and scored a goal immediately afterwards. It was foul, the VAR (video referee) did not intervene incorrectly,” explained the commission.

In the eighth minute of regulation, the full-back Ryneš should have been sent off for a rough tackle on substitute Matúš Rusnák. Black only gave him a yellow card. “It was about hitting the opponent in the head and neck area, it was fake with frustration and not trying to play the ball. VAR did not intervene wrongly,” said the commission.

Baník, despite being spoiled by the judges, turned the score and won 3:1 at Letná after two penalties. The journalists did not select any of the penalty kicks among the four situations from the round.

Ondřej Pechanec also made a mistake, which should have given Hlavaté a second yellow card in České Budějovice in the 79th minute for tripping Marcel Čermák. Slovan played the whole game at Dynamo stadium and drew without goals.

“The referee erroneously did not give a second yellow and then a red card to the visiting team player for tripping an opponent. “VAR did not intervene properly according to protocol.” the commission pointed out that the video referee cannot handle the giving of yellow cards.

In the 90th minute of Hradec Králové’s clash with Slavia, substitute Ondřej Mihálik fell in the penalty area after a fight with Jan Bořil, but referee Jan Beneš did not award a penalty and instead gave the home player a yellow card for to imitate. The game ended in a 1:1 draw.

“The referee did not give the penalty kick correctly. There was contact between the away and home players, but it was not foul play. The referee then wrongly gave the home player a yellow card for simulation, no it was an obvious attempt to deceive him.” said the commission.
