What happened today in Sunny Beach, for me, is both a personal insult and a clumsy attempt to put the Burgas organization of the BSP in a humiliating situation.
For me, being a member of the Board of Directors is not a primary goal in life. Those who know me are well aware of my many professional commitments, as well as my desire to fully fulfill my functions as chairman of BSP Burgas.
As a lawyer and a responsible person, today in fulfillment of the invitation of the Minister of Economy published in the commercial register, I attended the long-scheduled general meeting of Sunny Beach AD. No one found it necessary to notify me, at least an hour earlier, that at the last moment, I and the proposed executive director, Valentin Mihalev, would drop out and be replaced by other people – no one knows who proposed them. No one explained to us why and for what reasons.
Such a situation is insulting to any mature person, and when he represents a political organization of the ruling party, it is an insult to the organization itself. I would keep silent about the personal insult, but not the systematic attempts to humiliate BSP Burgas.
That is why I allow myself to ask a few questions:
1. Who and how ultimately makes personnel decisions in BSP?
2. Does the BSP have the strength to defend its positions and what are the daily compromises costing it?
3. Doesn’t the BSP’s already notorious yielding to coalition partners turn into a fatal mistake or is it a convenient cover for the realization of someone’s personal interests?
Questions waiting for answers. The tens and hundreds of thousands who voted with the BSP ballot await them.
In conclusion, without wanting to dramatize or make a hero, I thank everyone who was understanding in the ridiculous situation I was put in. To all those who feel sympathy for the BSP and its rank-and-file members, I promise that I will continue to fight for the BSP – Burgas to be a party of honest and active people with their own opinion and position. This is the path to leadership, which we can conquer ourselves without compromise and in an open duel with our opponents. The rest is simply not a man’s business.
