Within the framework of the winter vaccination campaign in the State of Mexico, Mario Vázquez Torres, president of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross in Toluca and Metepec, indicated that the institution has already established methods with the company Pfizer pharmaceuticals. to get biologywith the aim of serving those seeking vaccination during the winter season.
“Our goal is to have access to the vaccine for those who need it, especially since we know that prevention is essential this season, and we want to support by offering a price more affordable than in commercial pharmacies.”
He said that the cost of biological purchased from the Red Cross last year was 900 pesos, an amount lower than what is commonly found in private institutions and indicated that they will try to offer it mainly to people who received this vaccine last year. since biology requires an annual application.
In 2022, The Red Cross sent about 1,600 doses of the vaccine against Covid-19 in Toluca, and at this time the demand is expected to be similar or greater, due to the context of winter and the presence of respiratory diseases.
In addition to vaccines, the institution also continues to offer the double test, which detects both Covid-19 and Influenza A and B, at a cost of 200 pesos.
The winter vaccination campaign in the State of Mexico began on October 15 and will be valid until March 28, 2025 and is aimed primarily at children under the age of five, older adults and people with chronic diseases. which are considered the most vulnerable groups to respiratory diseases during this season.
