The rector of the UCO proposes that the students return to the classrooms after Easter | Radio Córdoba | Present

The rector of the University of Córdoba, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, believes that with the current incidence of the pandemic in Andalusia, The necessary conditions are in place for UCO students to return to classrooms safely. For this reason, Gómez Villamandos, together with the rectors of the other Andalusian universities, has asked the Board to recover face-to-face classes after Easter, “provided that by then we continue, as now, at alarm level 3, grade 1 “, has pointed out.

In an interview on the Hoy por Hoy Córdoba program, Gomez Villamandos, has explained that the proposal of the universities is to “return to a hybrid model, with part of the students in the classrooms and others following the classes from home, as we did in September and October “.

The rector recalled that “respecting the safety distance of one and a half meters between students, the classrooms of the UCO can accommodate 33% of students”, so, in his opinion, “It could be done without any risk.”

Gómez Villamandos, who also chairs the CRUE, is in favor of returning to classrooms being approached as a measure “as homogeneous as possible depending, yes, on the alert level of each province.”

Finally, the rector has insisted on the importance of the Board responding to this request before Easter “so that the students have time to organize themselves.”
