Indonesian authorities have found a black box with recordings of conversations in the cockpit of a plane that crashed in January and crashed in the Java Sea.
The decryption of the record is expected to take a week. Details of the condition of the box are not reported. The Indonesian Minister of Transport said that the found recorder of the flight of the Sriwijaya Air plane was found near the island of Lucky in the water area of the Java Sea, CNN Indonesia reported.
“A sound recording device was found last night. We were informed of this discovery and we informed the president,” Budi Karya Sumadi said.
The second black box was found near the location where the January 12 flight data recorder was found.
Sriwijaya Air’s 26-year-old Boeing 737-500 passenger plane took off on January 9 from Jakarta for West Kalimantan Province with 62 people on board, including five children and a baby. The plane disappeared from the radars for flight 4 minutes later, and in just one minute the machine lost 3 km altitude and disappeared shortly after entering the sea.
