Jakarta –
The Indonesia International Motor Show or IIMS 2023 exhibition has actually been held without social restrictions. So, visitors including event participants are not required to wear masks. However, why do so many usher booths still wear them?
According to detikOto’s monitoring at a number of four-wheeled booths at the IIMS 2023 exhibition, there are still many ushers who still wear masks while on duty, for example ushers at the booths of Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Wuling, Subaru and a number of other brands.
The usher at the Mitsubishi booth named Lia said that she was actually free to take off her mask while on duty at the exhibition. However, he admits that he is not used to showing his face in front of many people. Because, in previous exhibitions, he wore these accessories.
“I prefer to wear a mask at exhibitions, because it’s still not used to being opened in a crowded place. So it’s more comfortable like this,” said Lia when met at the Mitsubishi booth, Wednesday (22/2).
Lia, who has been pursuing her profession as an exhibition usher for many years, admits that wearing a mask keeps her body healthy. Because, he said, viruses and diseases still have the potential to be transmitted through intense interactions with visitors.
“Moreover, this event is from morning to evening, so it’s better to wear a mask anyway, there are lots of benefits,” he said.
Apart from Lia, Suzuki’s usher named Livia also continued to wear a mask at IIMS 2023. According to Livia, her decision to wear a mask had nothing to do with being embarrassed to show her face to exhibition visitors. He just felt used to it.
“Other friends at Suzuki also wear masks, so I wear them too. No, it’s not because I don’t feel confident. I really want to wear them,” said Livia.
Meanwhile, ushers at other booths, such as Esemka, chose not to wear masks. They admit, that way they can talk and breathe more freely.
